Creating art, creating community

Lighted Window Performing Arts was established in 2023 with a desire to create programs that fulfilled a community need: accessible, high quality music instruction and performance in a welcoming, inclusive community. A vibrant and growing community, LWPA hosts the Novae Choir, an academically and performance focused ensemble open to students in grade three through eight. The Lighted Window Festival Choir is a professional choir that presents several concerts a year as a gift to the community, including the biannual Evensong and the LCCC Celebration of the Arts. We also offer the opportunity to study organ, piano, and voice privately with one of our highly qualified instructors.

Our teaching philosophy is centered around fostering strong musicianship, developing physical and mental ease and flexibility, as well as organic and honest artistic expression. We believe in creating a learning environment that encourages active engagement, open dialogue, and a sense of pride in students’ work and progress.

LWPA is associated and supported by La Cañada Congregational Church. All rehearsals and events take place at the church. As an open and affirming UCC church, we intend to be an inclusive and diverse organization that welcomes, cherishes, and affirms all individuals in our community regardless of race, culture, age, gender identity, gender expression, LGBTQIA+ identity, ability, socio-economic status, or religion.
